Here's an update on what's going on lately:

•Just as an inspiring tidbit, wanted to let everyone know that subscriber George Janca, who wrote about competitions in a recent newsletter issue, taped a television commercial last week. And, get this: They found him through the Blue Diamond website! An ad agency in his city was looking for a "mature male tap dancer" and located him through our studio listings and his story on The Men's Page. Because of his competition experience, he had a video and photos available to take to the agency. Then, he auditioned, and was chosen. He e-mailed me with this story, and I think I'm as excited as he is! For those who don't recall, George is 50 years old -- in great shape from all that dancing he does with his wife and daughter. George is keeping in touch, and maybe we'll be able to put a QuickTime video of the commercial here on the site.

•I'm working now on Volume 2, No. 4, as well as an update on our subscribers-only summer school webpage. If you know of a summer workshop available to adults -- preferably ballet, but all styles of dance are welcome -- please let me know, so I can pass the information along to the rest of our members. Yes, the new issue will contain more Resist-a-Band exercises. Check back here in a few days for more about what's in store.

•If your subscription has expired and you still haven't renewed, there's still time to receive the latest issue without missing a thing. I'm offering a $10 discount on the cost of a year's subscription, so if you decide to renew (within the U.S.) it's $30 (rather than $40), and if you're elsewhere in the world, resubscribe for $40 (rather than the full price of $50). To reup, go to our store.

•One of our subscribers recently wrote in with the following helpful info: "I am a plus-size dancer (attempting to be a dancer :) , and let me tell you how hard it is to find plus-size dance clothes!!! Next to impossible, until I found Rivers Edge Dance Wear on the web -- they have an incredible selection in all sizes, they will also do custom work, and their prices are really good. This would be a good resource to pass on to other plus-size dancers." •Please do write in with your story ideas, questions, and suggestions. And, if you have helpful tips, like the one above, to pass on to our members, let me know.

And that's all for now. As always, love, peace, and dance! From moi, Rosetta
