"Barbara Scavello is a great teacher!  Just as attentive to adults and recreational students as the serious kids."

A student writes: "My teacher, Michael Blevins, is a patient, creative, positive, nurturing, and exciting teacher. He is a teacher who always believes you are capable of achieving success, even when you don't think you can. He treats his students fairly and always critiques in a positive manner. His choreography is creative and fun. Michael exposes his students to many different styles: classical jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, fosse, musical theatre. He incorporates turns, jumps, kicks and floor work into his combinations so that all elements are touched upon. I would recommend Michael Blevins to beginners through advanced students." The Centenary Performing Arts Guild is a professional equity theatre, so the complex offers an exciting learning atmosphere. 10/03

Ronnie Wilityer and Amy Flood DeCeseare are directors of this new studio. Both of these teachers have been on this list for years -- recommended by students at the studios where these teachers were formerly based. About Roni, one of my former informants said, "Roni is an exceptional ballet teacher. She provides insights and perspectives that make you want to dance your heart out for her." More recently, I received an e-mail that spoke about both Roni and Amy in the following way: "They are fantastic and supportive of kids in a very self-esteem building way (also the kids seem to have a great time while learning while in their respective classes). My two daughters love their classes which makes it very easy for me too. Also, parents (adults) seem to enjoy themselves as well." This last comes from a parent with dancing kids, but as both these teachers were already recommended here for their adult ballet classes, I thought it appropriate to list their new studio venture.
